International Outlook on the Terrorism-Related Security Awareness Programs

This article discusses security awareness as a tool in most democracies for preventing crime, terrorism, and violent extremism. It outlines some of the challenges on the issue, including the differences in approaches to prevention, the types of related measures, their implementation and the toolkits and methods used. Given the threat posed by the new type of terrorism to society as a whole, the risk factors are demostarted as ones that change along with the benefits of learning from monitoring the good practices and experiences of countries which have been executing awareness programs.
