El texto aporta una reflexión analítica comprehensiva sobre las tendencias del yihadismo global, la peculiaridad del modus operandi de las organizaciones terroristas y el perfil de las personas inspiradas por la violencia y como estos factores contribuyen amoldear la respuesta policial en un escenario atravesado por la incertidumbre y la inseguridad. El trabajo atiende a las dificultades y los retos que afrontan los partidos políticos en condicionar dicha respuesta. Por consiguiente, se pone de relieve la importancia del consenso político para garantizar una mayor adecuación y eficacia de las medidas y acciones empleadas, como también la cooperación internacional necesaria para la defensa de la seguridad interior de las sociedades democráticas.

The text provides a comprehensive analytical reflection on the tendencies of global jihadism, the peculiarity of the modus operandi adopted by the terrorist organizations and the profile of the persons inspired by the salafi violence in order to evaluate the adequacy of the police response in such a context characterized by uncertainty and insecurity. This study focuses on the difficulties and challenges faced by the political parties to raise the security levels with a scrupulous respect for human rights. Therefore, the importance of the political consensus is emphasized like a guarantee of an increased effectiveness of the measures and actions used, as well as the international cooperation necessary to ensure the welfare of the democratic societies.
